Yes, nightmares are a normal part of the dream cycle. Stress, anxiety, and trauma can increase the frequency of nightmares. In Islamic tradition, when you have a nightmare it is advised to blow to your left three times and recite the Isti'adhah and Bismillah.
Can dreams come true?
According to Islamic tradition, true dreams - especially those seen just before dawn - can come to pass. Hz. Muhammad (PBUH) said, "The dream of a Muslim is one of the forty-six parts of prophethood." However, this does not mean that every dream will come true exactly as seen; most dreams are symbolic and require interpretation.
